Nerdcore Profile: VideoGameRapBattles

Posted On April 5, 2020

VideoGameRapBattles is a nerdcore rap battle series created by Cam Greely that pits top gaming icons against each other in an epic showdown of lyrics. In 8th Grade, Cam released the first Video Game Rap Battle as a simple Green Screen test. What was supposed to be a fun one-off video turned into a prominent internet series after receiving 100,000s of views practically overnight. All of the sudden, the 13 year old California kid became a rapper.

After 8 years, Video Game Rap Battles has evolved from its middle-schooler origins. The battles now feature high quality live action footage and completely original 2D & 3D animation. Every month, VGRB receives 1,000,000s of plays across all platforms.

Currently, Cam still produces regular rap battles while introducing new content such as his personal music project “Steady Cam” and collaborative tracks with those across the Nerdcore community.
A great set of songs to get to know VideoGameRapBattles are Mario vs. Sonic, Slender Man vs. Baldi’s Basics, and Bowser vs. Dr. Eggman.
